FELLOWSHIP: 2012 ASF Fellow, Reykjavik Iceland
I was awarded a Fellowship grant from The American-Scandinavian Foundation. The fellowship will take me to Reykjavik, Iceland where I will be working on a body of photographs and a 16mm film merging my conceptual interest in landscape theory with a study of the relationship between landscape and culture. I will be collaborating with cultural geographers in the Department of Cultural Geography and Tourism within the Life and Environmental Sciences college at Háskóli Íslands - University of Iceland.

My piece Iceland II will be auctioned at this year's annual benefit auction, RenBen 2012. The benefit will be at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Atlantic Ballroom, 221 North Columbus Drive, Chicago IL on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
2012 CAAP Grant Awardee, Chicago IL
I was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Illinois Arts Council for production and exhibition of a 16mm film installation and accompanying photographic works on view at Roots & Culture Gallery in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood in early 2012.

Provost Grant for Graduate Research Awardee, University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago IL
I was awarded a 2010 Provost grant from the University of Illinois at Chicago. The grant will fund my project "Researching Familial Lineage though Touristic Photography" which will take me to Iceland for the summer. My project will entail retracing the steps my grandfather took in Iceland in 1969/1970, using his photographs from then as reference points. I will be creating a photographic essay and a 16mm film with funding provided by the Provost grant.
MFA Artist-in-Residence, Ox-Bow, Saugatuck, Michigan
As a MFA Artist-in-Residence at the Art Institute of Chicago's Ox-Bow summer residency program, I will be creating a photographic project on concepts of geo mapping, place, and landscape theory.
